Actor Murali Sharma conferred with an Honorary Doctorate
Popular actor Murali Sharma has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the 'New Life Theological University' for his best and outstanding contributions to the welfare of society. The ace actor, who is presented with a degree of Doctor of Social Ministry, said that he is extremely happy with the honour and respect of the University.
Having made his debut in films in 2002 with Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, the 49-year-old actor has starred in over 130 feature films, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Marathi and Malayalam cinema. His first Telugu film was Athidhi (2007), which has Superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead role.
Murali Sharma was born on 9 August 1972 in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh and was brought up in Mumbai. His father, Vrijbhushan Sharma, is a Marathi, while his mother Padma Sharma is a Telugu from Guntur. He received the Nandi Award for the Best Villain in 2007 for Athidhi. He also won the SIIMA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role - Telugu for Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in 2021.
On the work front, Murali Sharma will next be seen in Adivi Sesh's biographical action film "Major", Prabhas's much-awaited "Radhe Shyam", Nani's periodic drama "Shyam Singha Roy" and Ravi Teja's action entertainer "Khiladi."
